Anna Krenz, artist and activist within the Polish queer feminist collective Dziewuchy Berlin, explores how artistic practices can serve as tools of dissent against right-wing populism and authoritarian tendencies. Through examples of protests, artworks, performances and public actions like “Global Scream!” and “Instant Theatre”, she will present how artistic strategies can challenge dominant narratives, reclaim public space, and create spaces of solidarity.
The second part of the event is an interactive workshop: “Mapping Resistance”, in which participants collectively create a live diagram of civic strategies that visualises different tactics of civic engagement and resistance from everyday gestures to large-scale actions — highlighting the diversity of forms of empowerment. Each participant will contribute their own experiences and ideas, which will be drawn into a live map during the workshop.
This collaborative exercise not only highlights the diversity of forms of resistance, but also empowers the group to see themselves as part of a larger network of creative and political practices, able to imagine new strategies for the future.
Anna Krenz spoke at our conference Shadows of Illiberalism: Resisting the Radical Right, June 13-15, 2025, Kunstquartier Bethanien. - see her talk here!
